Scaling Biomanufacturing to 20,000L: A Large-Scale mAb Production Case with High Titer, High Yield, and High-Concentration Formulation
As monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapeutics continue to expand across oncology, immunology, and rare disease applications, manufacturers face increasing pressure to deliver large-scale commercial supply while maintaining robust process consistency, product quality, and cost efficiency. The transition from clinical-scale production to commercial manufacturing introduces significant technical and operational challenges. This presentation will showcase Altruist Biologics’ successful scale-up of a mAb manufacturing process to 20,000L, highlighting key upstream optimization strategies, downstream process considerations, and cost-of-goods (CoG) reduction approaches to ultimately provide a scalable framework for industrial biomanufacturing operations seeking to maintain product quality and achieve high-concentration formulations at commercial scale.
